Charles Tien is the Director of the Asian American Studies Center and Program, as well as a professor of Political Science at Hunter College and the Graduate Center, CUNY. He has served as department chair, was selected to be a Fulbright Scholar in American Politics at Renmin University in Beijing, China, and worked as a congressional staffer on Capitol Hill. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on American politics, women and minorities in politics, voting and elections, American foreign policy, research methods, and polling. He has published over 30 scholarly articles, most recently in Presidential Studies Quarterly, and International Journal of Forecasting.
