Estimated Costs

The estimated costs below are for planning purposes for a typical year.

Estimated additional expenses are included for planning purposes only.

I. Academic Expenses (Administrative Fees, Tuition, Learning Materials, Student ID card, and Student Group Accident Insurance): $2,200
II. International Travel (Visa, Visa Health Certificate Certification, Required COVID-19 testing, Resident Visa, Resident Visa Health Check-Up, Alien Resident Certificate/ARC Card, NCCU New Students Health Examination Form, and Insurance): $1,840
III. Lodging (NCCU Dormitory, Mattress, Bedding, Pillow, Internet, and Utilities): $4,662
IV. Estimated Additional Expenses (Airfare, Local Transportation, Food/Meals/Incidentals, Mobile Phone, and Checked Bags): $12,500
ESTIMATED GRAND TOTAL: $22,625

The amounts on this worksheet are subject to change and are for estimation purposes only. All amounts are in US$.

Please contact your domestic program coordinator if additional charges may be incurred due to force majeure factors (such as fire, earthquake, pandemic, etc.).

PLEASE NOTE: Students who wish to travel independently during weekends/school breaks should budget at least an additional $1,500 of personal finances for this purpose.

Calendar

Below you will find a preliminary calendar of Tentative Dates for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 cohort. (These timelines are subject to change.)

In addition to the dates outlined above, the following regular activities will be offered to both cohorts by the Chinese Flagship Overseas Capstone Program in Taiwan:

  • Students are encouraged to explore Taipei on weekends with local friends.
  • Students are required to join at least one NCCU club.
  • The Site Director and faculty advisors will meet with students each month for 10-15 minute individual conferences.
  • Students can join day-long trips, organized by the Taiwan Center, during the semester as long as they don’t conflict with classes or activities.
  • During their free time, students are encouraged to join all events organized by NCCU as long as there are no time conflicts with Taiwan Center classes.
