National Chengchi University

NCCU is one of the most prominent public research universities in Taiwan and is known to be a modern training institution for public servants. It provides 12 colleges and 10 university-level research centers for students’ studies.

Overview

The 12 colleges are Liberal Arts, Law, Commerce, Science, Foreign Languages, Social Sciences, Communication, International Affairs, Education, Innovation, Informatics, Global Banking and Finance. Research centers emphasize on studies in the realm of creativity and innovation, international relations, Taiwan and China, aboriginal culture, Chinese religions, and more.

National Chengchi University is located in the southernmost district of Taipei: the Wenshan district. The campus offers students both a beautiful location and easy access to the city. As Taipei is the political and economic center of Taiwan, Flagship students are easily able to make academic and professional connections in both Taiwanese society and global communities and companies that have a base in Taipei.

Direct Enrollment Courses

Students can choose a direct enrollment course from more than 160 excellent interdisciplinary course offerings at NCCU, all taught in Chinese. Each course has no more than 30 students to facilitate teacher and student discussions. Students will be guided to enroll in a course of choice before they depart for Taiwan. Students can add or drop during the first two weeks of the semester.

Campus Life

NCCU provides plenty of facilities on campus, including a comprehensive sports center (which includes a swimming pool), a computer center, the library and many other resources, and a wide variety of student clubs and groups that Capstone Program participants can — and are encouraged to — join. Some facilities do require a fee. Flagship students will be paying the same rate as NCCU students.

The NCCU campus is right next to the Taipei Zoo and just a few subway stops away from Taipei 101. Students can also hike on nearby mountain trails (or just on campus and enjoy the scenery!), take local transportation to nearby cities in New Taipei City next door, and enjoy many other sightseeing spots.

Housing

All Flagship Students Will Live on Campus

The Chinese Flagship Overseas Capstone Program in Taiwan Program has coordinated with NCCU to provide Capstone Program students excellent accommodations on campus.
