Jennifer Savoie earned her PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center in Psychology with a specialization in Animal Behavior and Comparative Psychology. Through a comparative approach, Dr. Savoie has investigated the perceptual and cognitive abilities of animals, with a specific focus on how hemispheric specializations influence social behaviors. Her general research interests include animal behavior, cognition, communication, and welfare.
At Hunter College, Dr. Savoie has taught courses in animal behavior, developmental psychology, and research methods. She has also actively contributed to initiatives aimed at developing and sharing open-access course materials.
Dr. Savoie joins the Psychology Department as a Doctoral Lecturer and as the Internship Coordinator for the Animal Behavior & Conservation Master's program.
