Conversations about AI

**This session is open only to Hunter faculty and staff.** CUNY colleagues are welcome to join us at our session on “AI beyond text” on Thursday March 7, 12-1pm. Register at: bit.ly/ACERT-AI-beyond-text This session will focus on our experiences, questions, and concerns about the use of generative AI tools in our Spring 2024 classrooms. Have you included an AI policy on your syllabus, or are you looking to do so in future classes? Are you using AI tools in your assignments, or interested in learning more? How can we best understand and manage students’ use of these tools? Continue the conversation on generative AI in the classroom with your Hunter colleagues in a session facilitated by Sree Sreenivasan (Digimentors). While this is a follow-up session of our pre-semester event in January, everyone interested in understanding generative AI in their classrooms is welcome to join.

AI Beyond Text

Much of our conversation about generative AI in the classroom has focused on text generators, such as ChatGTP and Gemini (previously Bard), and what challenges and opportunities they bring to our teaching. In this session, we are broadening our conversation and will look at how instructors are using image-generating AI tools in their classrooms and their own work. Participants will also get a quick overview of some of the tools available.

Presenter(s): Deepsikha Chatterjee and students (Theatre), Peter Dudek (Art and Art History), Logan Spevak (Center for Online Learning)
