Classes canceled and all regular Hunter College activity suspended on Monday, October 29

To the Hunter community,

PLEASE NOTE, HUNTER STAFF: Due to Hurricane Sandy, only Hunter College emergency essential personnel will be required to report to work on Monday, October 29. These emergency essential personnel should contact their immediate supervisors. The Brookdale, MFA, Silberman East Harlem and Roosevelt House buildings will be closed on Monday.

As we said before, all classes on Monday, October 29 are canceled, and all regular Hunter College activity will be suspended.

Throughout the coming days, Hunter’s 68th Street campus will remain open as an evacuation center and shelter. Personnel and supplies will be available for students and others.

BROOKDALE RESIDENTS, PLEASE NOTE: Mayor Bloomberg has ordered a mandatory evacuation of Zone A, where Brookdale is located, by 4 pm today. We ask all students to leave the area and stay with family or friends. Those unable to do so are welcome to come to Hunter’s 68th Street campus, where shelter and services will be provided.
