An Important Notification About Campus Access

An incident occurred on the morning of August 29, 2016, in which an unauthorized individual gained access to our campus by following a Hunter student. The College implemented a Public Safety protocol to search for the unauthorized individual. Public Safety personnel have been proactively involved in protecting the student, reporting the incident to the New York Police Department and cooperating in the investigation.

We encourage students and all members of our community to be aware of those who attempt to enter our campus and to promptly report any person who does not have appropriate authorization or identification. Public Safety personnel are stationed at all entrances to the campus. In addition, the College has over 1,000 metal Talk Alert Boxes-- on every floor, in every elevator lobby, in every bathroom and in most stairwells throughout the 68th street campus which allows members of the College community to instantly alert Public Safety to emergencies or events requiring immediate attention.
