STATISTICS (STAT 113/213 or any course using statistics)

SPECIAL BOOT CAMPS FOR FALL 

Register for these special boot camps on Navigate.  Don’t delay – space is limited!

In these, we will conduct a review of prerequisite math content needed for the course; see how learning math/stat is different from other subjects and help you determine which study skills you need to strengthen; inform you of what you can expect in the course and tell you of services available to assist you; discuss growth mindsets and the effects of attitudes on learning math; share study strategies that work well in this course as well as test-taking strategies and test anxiety; get practice writing about mathematics which will be done in your course.  Take advantage of the opportunity to meet new people and get ready for the Fall!

Elementary Statistics - STAT 113: July 16, 17, 18 11:00 – 2:00 and Aug 5, 6, 7 10:00 – 1:00

Math for Elem Education I - MATH 104: Aug 20, 21, 22 10:00 – 1:00

Calculus I - Math 150:  Aug 5, 6, 7, 8 2:00 – 6:00

 

TRADITIONAL BOOT CAMPS – TO PREP FOR ALL COURSES

August 15 – August 27

These one-hour boot camps will give you practice on different topics and are offered both onsite and virtual during day and evening hours.  Choose as many topics as you want and register for them on Navigate.  The listing of topics can be found by going to Navigate or to the left-hand side of this website under "Boot Camps".

 

 1st  ANNUAL SILVERSTEIN STUDENT SUCCESS CONFERENCE

For students in MATH 101, 101EN, 124, 125.50, 150, 155, STAT 113, CHEM 102

Join us on August 14 from 9:00am to 5:00pm for the First Silverstein Student Success Conference.

Topics include:  Math and Science Important Study Skills, Time Management, Gearing Up for Higher Education, Maximing Your College Learning, Writing in Science Courses, Math Test-Taking Tips, Retaking College Courses, Benefits of Group Peer Learning, Overcoming Test Anxiety, COnquering Note-Taking Skills and many more
