In honor of Black History Month, the Department of Africana and Puerto Rican/Latino Studies at Hunter College presents a special workshop on "Global Black Experience Archiving" with Professor Benjamin Talton (Howard University) and Professor James Cantres (Hunter College).
What constitutes a "Black" archive? How do the politics of Blackness animate collecting practicing, archival methods, and the narratives of African and diasporic histories? What is the role of a privately owned Black archive? How do we read and interpret silence and violence in the Black archive?
Please RSVP to attend.
