Hunter College has partnered with GrowNYC–the sustainability resource for New Yorkers– to introduce the Fresh Food Box Program. The Fresh Food Box Program at Hunter College is a food access initiative that enables under-served communities to purchase fresh, healthy, and primarily regionally-grown produce, well below traditional retail prices. Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available to students, staff and faculty for just $14 a week!

Here's how it works:

  • Pay $14 in cash for next week’s share
  • Return the following week to pick up your share containing 10-15 pounds of fresh, high-quality produce

How to Sign-Up for the Fresh Food Box Program

Sign-ups for Fresh Food Box will begin on Thursday, October 18 at the 3rd Floor Counter, North Building. Sign up to receive a free produce bag and tote bag!

Delivery/Pick-Up Information:

  • Day: Each Thursday, beginning October 25th (Unless the campus is closed)
  • Time: 3:30 – 6:30 pm
  • Location: 3rd Floor Counter, North Building

For more information, please contact Teneia Wooten, Director, Student Activities, at twooten@hunter.cuny.edu.

Vouchers

In an effort to provide access to nutritious food choices to all students, we offer vouchers to students who cannot afford to cover the cost of the Fresh Food Box.

Please contact Chris Aviles at ca748@hunter.cuny.edu to learn more about your food security options.
