Benjamin Carter Hett and Charles Taylor

(From left) Benjamin Carter Hett and Charles Taylor

The Nazi Menace: Hitler, Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin and the Road to War

With Author Benjamin Hett Professor, History, Hunter College

In conversation with Charles Taylor, Author of Opening Wednesday at a Theater or Drive-In Near You: The Shadow Cinema of the American ‘70s

Join Professor Benjamin Hett as he guides us through “The Nazi Menace” and looks behind the scenes in Berlin, London, Moscow, and Washington, revealing the unsettled politics within each country in the wake of the German dictator’s growing provocations. It is the story of a worldwide crisis of democracy, of ‘adults in the room’ trying and failing to control a wild and irrational ruler, of a tide of refugees meeting racism and nativism, of people and leaders who willingly collaborate with hostile foreign powers. Through this story we see both the past and the present in a new way.

The event will conclude with a live, virtual, Q&A.

This event will be held online via Zoom.
