Can I change a page or other content item's URL?
The URL (or web address) of a page or other content item in the WebCMS is determined by the path to the item and the item's title.
For example, imagine there is a subsite called ICIT and within this subsite, there is a folder called Technology Resource Center. Now, imagine that within this folder there is another folder called Training Workshops, which contains a page called CMS Orientations. Then, the URL for this page would be:
http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/icit/technology-resource-center/training-workshops/cms-orientations
Note that all text within the URL is lowercase, and that invalid URL characters (spaces, etc.) will be replaced with hyphens.
It is possible to change the URL of an item by navigating to its parent folder, clicking on the Contents tab, selecting its checkbox and then clicking on the Rename button. A full tutorial can be found here.
