Responsible Conduct of Research
Arita Winter is Hunter College's Research Integrity Officer (RIO) and the primary point of contact for all researcher needs on campus. The RIO is responsible for promoting the responsible conduct of research through training and education at the college and for implementing CUNY's research misconduct policy.
The core tenets for responsible conduct of research include honest, trustworthy, reliable, and accountable behavior practices developed to promote high quality research. It is important that all researchers in the community are aware of the following when considering research integrity in their study's development:
- Mentor/Trainee responsibilities
- Data acquisition, management, sharing, & ownership
- Peer review
- Publication practices & responsible authorship
- Collaborative science
- Research misconduct
