Overview

The Hunter website has many pages and media to manage and will continue to grow. Deleting old content is one way to keep its content orderly, organized, easy to find and useful.


Delete Pages, Articles, Events, People, Left Nav, Etc.

For Site and Section Editors

In the Pages, Articles, Events, People or Left Nav sections of the WordPress CMS:

  1. Find the content you want to delete.
  2. Hovering over it to reveal more functionality and select Trash.
  3. That will move the content to the Trash directory. See very top of page where it shows links for All, Mine, Published, Drafts, Trash, etc.
  4. Click on Trash.
  5. Hover over the desired content and select Delete Permanently which will remove it from Hunter's CMS.

For Contributors

Contributors do not have permission to delete content in WordPress CMS. In order to have content removed, contact your Section Editor or email website_feedback@hunter.cuny.edu.

 


Delete Media

For Site Editors

For one image or file:

  1. Go to the Media Library.
  2. Select the piece of content.
  3. In pop up that appears click on Delete Permanently

For multiple images or files:

  1. Go to the Media Library.
  2. At the top of the page click on Bulk Select.
  3. Select content to delete (checkmarks will appear on selected content).
  4. Click on Delete Permanently button at the top of the page.

For Everyone Else

Only Site Editors may delete content from the media library. In order to have media files removed, email website_feedback@hunter.cuny.edu.
