On 2/18/21, Hunter hosted this online public program as part of the Audre Lorde Now Series.
On February 18th, Hunter College kicked-off the first in a series of events in which our community gathered to discuss the enduring power of the work of alumna and renowned poet Audre Lorde ’59, author of Hunter’s 2020 Community Read selection, Sister Outsider.
Welcoming remarks were made by Hunter President, Jennifer J. Raab. Dr. Jacqueline Brown, a professor in the Department of Anthropology at Hunter moderated a fascinating discussion featuring the winner of the National Book Award for Poetry and author of Love Child’s Hotbed of Occasional Poetry: Poems & Artifacts, Nikky Finney.
