The Hunter faculty earned $406,420 in PSC-CUNY Research grants this year, with 88 proposals yielding 67 grants.
A highlight was a jump in the percentage of larger grants awarded, which rose to 46% of proposals from about 40% in earlier years. The larger, or “enhanced” grants, for sums from $6,500 to $12,000, are highly competitive.
“Kudos to our faculty for their important and compelling research,” said Hunter Interim Provost Manoj Pardasani. “The larger grants are a testament to the high quality and impact of scholarship and research Hunter faculty are engaged in.”

The Professional Staff Congress-City University of New York Research Award Program supports research and leverages external funding to further the professional growth and development of CUNY’s full-time instructional staff, both established and younger scholars. The awards are distributed by the faculty’s University Committee on Research Awards and administered by the Research Foundation of CUNY. Preference for awards is given to junior faculty.
