Our Nursing school is tops!
Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing was ranked third out of 210 Nursing schools in New York state and in the top 10% nationally by nonprofit news site RN Careers.
Hunter was the only Nursing school in New York City of the top three. (The other two were in Stony Brook and Buffalo.) Only one other city Nursing school made the top 10 – Columbia, at No. 7.

According to the website, RN Careers “rigorously evaluated over 1,700 schools [nationally] to find the best nursing schools and programs, ranking them on preparation for impactful jobs, graduate outcomes, reputation, affordability, and accreditation. This in-depth analysis spotlights schools with a proven record of readying nurses to enhance lives and healthcare.”
Dean Mauro thanked Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs Barbara Ravida, Director for Undergraduate Clinical Affairs Dr. Alexandra Plavskin, RN to BS Program Coordinator Dr. Mary Belmont, RN to BS Program Assistant Coordinator Dr. Ellen McCabe, former Nursing Scholars Program Director Dr. Abigail Kotowski, Manager for Undergraduate Admissions and RN to BS Student Advisement Maria Mendoza, Undergraduate Programs Administrator Henrietta Jones, and Counselor Barbara Singletary and the outstanding Hunter Nursing faculty, students, and staff.
