They’re everyday heroes!
Hunter College President Ann Kirschner gave certificates of appreciation to dozens of students who worked for the administration as Student Admissions Leaders and Student Ambassadors.
“Hunter College thanks you for all your work and dedication to our institution,” President Kirschner said. “Whether you lead orientation, work Acceptance Student Day, give campus tours, or text a buddy, your service is much appreciated and helps our college fulfill its mission.”
Ninety-two students worked for the college in those capacities during the 2023-24 academic year.
SALs are students who work four to six hours a week as representatives of the college and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment. They introduce the Hunter community to prospective students and their families via on-campus visits, events, peer-to-peer texting, and social media. Student Ambassadors conduct tours of campus for prospective students and their families and help with admissions events, on-campus visits, group visits, and other events.
Hunter College Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Joseph Fantozzi said that students can supply several kinds of services to the college, including working as texting buddies, bloggers, or as creators of video reels with content about campus.
“Whether you’re a current student, a recent alumnus, or a new incoming Hawk, there are many opportunities to join our team,” Fantozzi said.
