A special three week exhibit at Roosevelt House showcased the never-before-displayed correspondence between Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his cousin Margaret (Daisey) Suckley. This exhibit, titled “Affectionately, FDR” gave the public free and open access to rare historic artifacts: fifteen pieces of personal, handwritten correspondence between FDR and a trusted friend, revealing the 32nd president’s honest perspective on subjects political and personal.
These letters were donated to the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College by philanthropists Roger and Susan Hertog ‘65, part of the Hertogs’ continuing legacy of generosity towards Hunter College. The exhibit concluded on the May 31st, 2019, but the letters remain part of the Roosevelt House archive and library, available for scholarly use.
