Fall for Assessment!

Fall is an exciting time for faculty and staff. New students bring new energy that opens up possibilities for our own personal and professional development. And there are many opportunities this fall to grow and share! Come join us to learn how to fold assessment into your practice.

  • Special Session on Department/Program Assessment (October 22)
  • Assess Anything You Like with Rubrics (November 5)
  • Articulate Impact with Logic Models (November 12)

Come nosh on some breakfast pastries while learning along with your colleagues.

Other Assessment Events
Many more assessment events are popping up in your neighborhood and across the region. Coming up:

  • 2014 Assessment Institute (October 19)
  • Annual Conference of the Northeastern Educational Research Association (October 22)

Adventures in Assessment
Announcing the new Office of Assessment blog! And welcome to our two intrepid bloggers: Lindsay Portnoy from Educational Foundations and Brian Buckwald from Scholar Programs. Lindsay and Brian have been kind enough to agree to share their adventures in assessment with the rest of us. Both are wonderfully thoughtful and energetic and care deeply about our students. Looking forward to what they contribute.

If you'd like to join them as a fellow blogger, please let us know. Otherwise, make sure to visit the blog and follow us on Twitter for post updates.

Can't wait for the first blog post? Come get to know Lindsay when she presents on rubrics along with Erica Chutuape from Asian American Studies at the ACERT Lunchtime Seminar on October 23.

Keep in Touch
Just a reminder, please let us know all the great things you're doing when it comes to assessment and we will attempt to highlight your work in this newsletter or on the website.

Please also remember to join our new listserv and let us know what you need in terms of workshops, resources and consultations through our quick survey. Also, remember to visit the new website for tutorials, sample tools and policies to help make assessment as easy as possible.

The Office of Assessment works with faculty and staff across the College to help them explore student learning and success in their courses, departments, programs, and offices.

Visit us online, by phone, by email, or drop by Hunter College East Building, Room 1008.
