The graduate program prepare students for a range of positions in clinical and policy settings. Two programs are accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and lead to the ability to sit for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialing examination.

ACEND Accredited IPND

Integrated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics

The Integrated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics (IPND) combines graduate-level didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning hours. Successful graduates are eligible to take the credentialing exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).

Academic Dietetic Internship

The MS – Nutrition Dietetic Internship program is a 36-credit (1.5 years/3 semesters) program for students who have completed an undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and wish to complete a master’s degree in Nutrition while enrolled in the Hunter College Dietetic Internship Program.

External Dietetic Internship

The MS – Nutrition External Dietetic Internship program is a 30-credit (1.5 years/3 semesters) program for students who have completed an undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and have been accepted into an external (non-credit bearing) Supervised Practice Program, and also wish to complete a master’s degree in Nutrition.

Advanced Certificate

Standalone Dietetic Internship

The Standalone Dietetic Internship Program is an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program for students who have earned a minimum of a Masters degree or are within 6 credits of earning their Masters degree before starting the Internship Program.

MS - Nutrition

Focused Study

The MS - Nutrition Focused Study program is a 36-credit program (1.5 years/3 semesters) for credentialed RDs/RDNs with an undergraduate degree, or students with degrees in physical or social sciences (who meet the pre-requisites) with research interests in Nutrition. The program covers clinical aspects of nutrition research and provides an individualized focus developed through elective course selection, in areas such as cancer research, food policy, or nutritional epidemiology.
