Hunter College collaborates with local residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations to create programs and initiatives that address community needs and enhance the quality of life in its neighborhoods. The Office of External Affairs manages the Hunter Helpers program, and the Care For the Future (CFF) internship program.
The Office of External Affairs is dedicated to promoting the college’s interests, securing public resources, and ensuring compliance with New York City, New York State, and the federal government regulations. The office is the College’s designated point of contact for government officials and their staff members and can provide guidance when inviting government leaders to campus to speak or when engaging officials off campus.
Hunter College provides equal access to all political candidates for public office, in accordance with federal law and CUNY policy. Political candidates may be invited to speak on matters related to their candidacy, provided that similar opportunities are made available to their opponents. Political organizations or candidates themselves may rent college facilities for partisan political purposes, for which they will be charged the standard rates for rental and other event-related costs.
The office is able to assist faculty, staff, and students with public funding from local, state, and Federal funding opportunities.
