Profile
Galia Galansky, our Assistant Vice President of Human Resources, is a top-flight administrator and data savant who embraces the “human” side of her profession.
Before coming to Hunter in 2014, Galia held high-level human resources posts at two city agencies — as Assistant Commissioner at both New York City’s Department of Information, Technology, and Telecommunications; and the Department of Finance.
As an administrator at Montefiore Medical Center, she ran a pediatric AIDS program, working with some of our most vulnerable children in underserved communities. Her statistical work at St. Luke’s Hospital (now Mt. Sinai Morningside) also led to the recognition of Binge Eating Disorder among obese people.
“The time I spent working with and on behalf of the children born with AIDS has served to be my most impactful work,” she said. “While many children succumbed to the disease, I am proud to say that children who were once part of the pediatric clinic are now thriving adults.”
Galia enjoys problem-solving and finding creative solutions that make a difference in the lives of our employees and contribute to Hunter’s success. “Human capital is the college's greatest asset,” she said.
Galia has an MBA from Baruch College, an MA in Applied Psychology from New York University, and a BA in psychology from Touro College.
