Maria Camaj joined the Office of the President as Chief of Staff and Director of Operations in 2023 and serves as a vital member of the president's team. She provides administrative and strategic support to senior staff, ensuring the progress of college initiatives, policies, and special programs and developing and evaluating systems to support the president and the college. Overseeing the daily operations of the office, she serves as a conduit through which community members can communicate with the president.
With more than two decades of experience in the public and private sectors, including at domestic and international businesses, Camaj brings a wealth of expertise in higher education and the management of complex executive, strategic, and administrative initiatives. She earlier served as Associate Director for Special Projects and Academic Operations at Lehman College, her alma mater.
Camaj’s academic background enriches her capacity to drive change in the college community. She is a three-time alumna of Lehman, with a Master of Science in Business (MSB), a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL), a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Marketing and International Business. She currently is a candidate for a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a specialization in Strategic Management.
