Profile

Dr. Wei Yu is an associate professor of economics and accounting and serves as director of the accounting program at Hunter College. She frequently teaches courses in Accounting I and Auditing. What Dr. Yu finds most rewarding as a professor is not only the pursuit of knowledge through research, but also the sharing of that knowledge through teaching and advising.

Dr. Yu's research focuses primarily on auditing, corporate governance and financial accounting. Her papers have been published in various accounting journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research (CAR),  Organizations and Society (AOS), Journal of Management Accounting Research (JMAR), Journal of the American Taxation Association (JATA), Journal of Practice and Theory (AJPT), Accounting Horizons (AH) and Managerial Auditing Journal (MAJ).

Dr. Yu earned her doctorate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
