Acceptance into the DPT Program

The DPT program admits 32 students each year.

In the past three years, we have interviewed an average of 100 - 120 of the top qualified applicants seeking admission. The admission process is competitive.  It is common to have more qualified candidates than the available 32 seats.

Applicants considered for admission have met all admission requirements.  They present with excellent recommendation letters, professional and well thought-out interview experiences, well written essays, and GPAs ranging from 3.0 - 4.0.

If you meet our requirements, we urge you to apply.  Please note that an interview is a meaningful component of the admissions procedure, and therefore overall GPA is not the sole factor for acceptance.

If you have questions regarding your qualifications, or need to speak with an advisor, please email Mrs. Maureen Brennan, Department Secretary, at gradpt@hunter.cuny.edu.

Applicants will be invited for an interview by email so it is important that you keep an eye on the email provided in your application.

Interviews take place across November and December.  Admission offers begin in late December and early January and are sent out via an email from the Office of Graduate Admissions followed by an email from the PT program.

Applicants are asked to reply to an offer as quickly as possible so the admission process can move forward smoothly and quickly. Applicants are also asked to notify Mrs. Maureen Brennan at gradpt@hunter.cuny.edu if they decide to accept an offer elsewhere.
