Instructions
All applicants to the Physical Therapy Program at Hunter College are required to have had practical experience in a physical therapy department or clinic in order to be considered for admission. Your participation in a Physical Therapy clinical experience can be on a paid or voluntary basis. A minimum of 100 hours of clinical exposure is required, in at least TWO different settings, under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. At least 50 of these hours MUST be in an in-patient setting.
This required exposure to the physical therapy profession is intended to provide you an opportunity to learn about the profession and to experience time engaged in the work of a physical therapist so you may best decide if this is the career choice for you.
A Clinical Experience Form must be completed by the supervising physical therapist for each of your clinical experiences. The form must be uploaded to PTCAS as instructed in the application process.
Make sure to complete the top portion of the form with your name and address, and sign the disclaimer, BEFORE providing the form to the physical therapist who will complete for submission.
