Title: PRE-HEALTH FILE WORKSHOP FOR COMMITTEE LETTER APPLICANTS
Description: If you are planning to apply for a Committee Letter during the 2015-2016 application cycle and DO NOT have a Pre-Health file with our office, please respond to this email IMMEDIATELY.
We will be having another mandatory workshop on Friday February 13th from 1:00pm-3:00pm for those students who need to start a Pre-Health file for the upcoming 2015-2016 Professional schools application cycle.
You must have a Pre-Health file to apply for a Committee Letter or Letter Packet. We will not provide you with a Committee Letter or Letter Packet without a Pre-Health file. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
Please note that this Pre-Health File workshop is only open to students planning to apply during the 2015-2016 application cycle to medical, dental, optometry, veterinary and podiatry schools.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL NOT BE OFFERED AGAIN.
Future Applicants must attend an "Everything You Need to Know about Being a Pre-Health Student" workshop to start a Pre-Health file.

Title: C.A.R.E. (Care and Respect for Elders in Emergencies) Volunteer Program Information Session
Description: The C.A.R.E. (Care and Respect for Elders in Emergencies) volunteer program director will be conducting an information session for students interested in serving as volunteers with this Emergency Department program. Volunteers will be required to go through a thorough screening process and 7-hour training, and make a minimum 6-month, 100-hour commitment. This is a highly sought after placement for anyone interested in pursuing an education and career in health.

Title: 2015-2016 Committee Letter Workshop
Description: The Final Committee Letter Workshop of 2015 will be held on Thursday, March 5th, 2015 from 3pm-5pm. In order to submit a Committee Letter Application and receive either a committee letter or letter packet you must attend one of the workshops. This is MANDATORY for all first-time applicants as well as Re-Applicants who would like to have previously submitted Committee Letters updated. Students who are applying for a Letter Packet are also required to attend a Committee Letter workshop.

Description: Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is looking for medical students who will excel in academics, clinical care, research and community service. Title: Dr. Joel Oppenheim MD/PhD Talk
Description: Dr. Joel Oppenheim, Senior Associate Dean for Biomedical Science and Professor of Microbiology at New York University School of Medicine is visiting Hunter College to talk to students pursuing pre-med, pre-MD/PhD, or PhDs in the medical fields. He has served on NYU's M.D. and M.D./Ph.D. Admissions Committees, and he chairs the Ph.D. Admissions Committee. He is the founder and organizer of the "What Can You Be With a Ph.D.?" Symposium, and one of the founding program directors of The Leadership Alliance (1992), a consortium of collaborating minority-serving colleges and major research universities committed to increasing graduate-level underrepresented minorities in all disciplines. He will be discussing the Medical/Graduate School application processes, and the jobs available in those chosen fields.
