Description: Want to know what it is like being a dentist? Come join the Pre-Dental Society and Pre-Health Post-Bacc Community for a question and answer session with Dr. Ellen Heuman, DDS. Following the Q & A, members of both boards will be taking questions.
Dr. Heuman attended the George Washington University from 1968-1972 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in psychology. After graduating, Dr. Heuman worked as a paralegal for several years; she, however, ultimately decided not to attend law school but to pursue a career in healthcare. She chose dentistry and enrolled in Hunter College to take her pre-requisite courses. After completing her pre-dental curriculum, Dr. Heuman attended The New York University College of Dentistry, which offered a three-year program including summers. She graduated in 1981 and has been practicing general dentistry for 36 years.

Description: The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) offers an Early Assurance Program (EAP) to a select group of highly qualified college sophomores who attend Hunter College. The EAP offers a conditional acceptance to URMC following the successful completion of your four-year undergraduate degree.

Title: The Doctor Speaker Series-Dr. Maurice Hinson
Description: Join us for an engaging discussion with Dr. Maurice Hinson. Maurice D. Hinson, MD is a Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Hinson received his BA in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University. It was there that he discovered his passion for research and mentoring- having engaged in several research projects at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and co-founding the Brotherhood Mentoring Program, a student run organization created to mentor African American male youth from an inner city Baltimore high school. After graduating Hopkins, He went on to perform research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Department of Neonatology, where his work culminated with the publication of several peer reviewed articles and receipt of several nationally recognized awards, including the Young Investigator award from the Eastern Society of Pediatric Research. After completing a post baccalaureate at Drexel University, he received his MD from the Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM).
