Description: This workshop is geared towards students who are interested in going on to professional health care programs of medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary and podiatric medicine. This workshop is designed to ensure students learn the basic information and can begin meeting the requirements for competitive application.
Title: Pre-Health Group Advising for Transfer Student
Description: The Pre-Health Advising Office will hold a group advising session for transfer students. This session will cover the requirements for a Pre-Health file, Committee Letter and address any other questions or concerns you may have. Many successful Pre-Health students begin their careers at the community or other colleges and universities. We strongly encourage you to get involved in the Hunter College Pre-Health community.

Description: Come and learn how to administer an IV. IV stands for intravenous that is giving medicines or fluids through a needle or tube, which directly goes into a vein. Proper and successful insertion of IV places its own importance as it can even cause discomfort to the patient.

Description: Dr. Elizabeth Wilson-Anstey, Assistant Dean at Weill Cornell Medicine and Hunter College alum, will give an admissions presentation that will cover topics such as; the medical school admissions process, being a competitive applicant and personal statement.

Title: How to Pursue Research Opportunities for Pre-Health Students
Description: We will discuss the importance of research and how to find research opportunities.
"Research is highly valued at top-tier schools. Without a research background, some applicants will be screened out of interviews, even though they have good grades and a solid MCAT score. However, a student with a research background will likely be perceived by admissions committee members as inquisitive and willing to think creatively."
