Description: Chris Speece from Salus University's Office of Admissions will discuss the application process for the optometry, public health and physician assistant programs, ways for applicants to better prepare for the process and also what makes Salus University's programs unique. Salus University is a private university in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, specializing in degree programs for the health care professions. It was founded as the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry in 1919.

Title: FlexMed Early Assurance Program Application Preparation Workshop

Description: This workshop will review the requirements for application to the FlexMed Early Assurance Program of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). This workshop will specifically focus on how to write the FlexMed essays. A step-by-step analysis of what to discuss in each essay response and how to organize your essay responses will be reviewed. The workshop will also prepare you for the interview. The types of questions you should be prepared to answer and how to be a strong applicant will be covered. Hunter College sophomores who are currently applying or are planning to apply to the Flex-Med Program at ISMMS are strongly encouraged to attend. You will also have the opportunity to speak with successful FlexMed applicants Christina Marshall and Jennifer Shmukler. This workshop is a collaboration between Hunter College Macaulay Honors College and the Pre-Health Professions Advising Office.

Description: Join the American Medical Student Association on Friday, October 13th 3:45-5:45PM for our Pathways in Medicine Discussion Panel. The panel will consist of a graduate student currently in a joint Masters in Public Health - Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine program and his colleagues. Title: The Art of Science Club Open House

Description: The Art of Science is a creative forum for students to explore the confluence of the fields of art and science through discussion and collaboration on projects. STEAM education (Incorporating art and design into STEM curricula) is becoming an integral party of systems of higher education, and this club is a means to introduce the STEAM initiative to the general CUNY student body.

Description: Come join the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Student's (MAPS), MCAT Examkrackers CARS session this Thursday. This event will led by College Program National Director Megan Galvin, who has years of experience with preparing students for the MCAT, and knows the process that one takes to be prepared for the exam. Refreshments will be served.
