How to Keep Your Pre-Health File Active
As a Pre-Health Transfer Student to Hunter College, what do I need to do to maintain my file after I submit my Pre-Health Application?
SUBMIT INSTRUCTOR EVALUATIONS: Obtaining these evaluations from your instructors serves to build your Pre-Health portfolio and are used when writing your Committee Letter. These evaluations can be obtained from lab instructors, recitation instructors, and non-science course instructors, as well as from your science and math professors. You must have a minimum of 3 evaluations from science courses.
To request an instructor evaluation, click on the Quick Link Recommendation/Evaluation Request on the homepage of this website under the photo of the Pre-Health Advising Offices, and fill out the form for an Instructor Evaluation Request.
You should aim to submit 2 Instructor Evaluations each semester so that by the time you apply for a Committee Letter, you will have between 8 and 10 Instructor Evaluations in your Pre-Health File.
COMPLETE THE ADDITIONAL MANDATORY WORKSHOPS AND THE GPA REQUIREMENT IN ORDER TO OPEN THE FILE.
Once your Pre-Health File is official open, you must:
- Meet with a Pre-Health Advisor at least once per semester. Please email the advisor to set up an appointment or attend their scheduled weekly walk in advising hours, and
- Attend at least 3 events sponsored by the Pre-Health Advising Office or 6 events within the academic year.
