MD/PhD Talk with Weill Cornell Medical Student Michelina Stoddard
Join us for an engaging discussion with Michelina Stoddard. Miki is a 5th year MD/PhD student (Entering class of 2012) in the Tri-Institutional MD/PhD Program at Weill Cornell Medical College. She graduated from the University of Washington in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in neurobiology after transferring from Seattle Central Community College. Miki is the first person in her family to attend college, and having grown up in a socioeconomically disadvantaged environment, understands firsthand the challenges associated with becoming a first-generation medical student. Her professional interests include forensic pathology, inflammation and innate immunity, advocacy for students belonging to groups that are under-represented in medicine, and mentoring students.
