Unpacking Gender and Sexuality in Healthcare Context
Gender and Sexuality in Healthcare Context” seeks to provide an introduction to rethinking what we know about gender and sexuality. This is a workshop meant to center LGBTQ+ experiences in healthcare especially in the context of sexual health care. While there is a lot of stigma about these topics, we seek to normalize the experiences of LGBTQ+ folks and talking about sexual health as neither of these things are “niche” or “special topics”, but rather, applicable to all communities. How does shifting our practices and understanding of gender and sexuality more broadly benefit all people and ensure that those often marginalized are more frequently and consistently included?
