Dr. Catherine Holfer received her Bachelor of Science at Carnegie Mellon University followed by her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics at Yale University. She is now a Director of Research at Emerald Therapeutics, leading a team of diverse scientists to develop and test novel antiviral nanotechnology. She has received numerous prestigious scholarships, patents and publications, and the title of Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 under 40.
A highly accomplished woman in STEM, she describes herself as a geneticist, neuroscientist, cell survival specialist, robot trainer, code monkey, and crazy cat lady. Join us for a discussion with Dr. Holfer on her journey within science and her take of bioethics within the biotech industry.
