COVID has impacted many pre-health students’ ability to obtain the necessary clinical experience, which is why Health and Hillel at Hunter have decided to offer a virtual shadowing series throughout the spring semester.
Join us to learn more about the journeys and day-to-day lives of medical professionals. The speaker series will span through this spring 2021 semester and is organized by two organizations at Hunter, JHealth and FSU Hillel. The professionals we currently have lined up include psychologists, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, and other healthcare workers.
Lacie Grisley is a Registered Nurse who currently works as a school nurse in an impoverished area outside of Baltimore. Lacie enjoys nursing because of the variety of experiences and opportunities to connect with people that the field offers. Taking full advantage of these opportunities Lacie has worked in Maine, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland in Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, and Oncology Intensive Care Units, Cardiac Step Down, and Hospice units. Lacie has also worked four summers as the nurse for a boys-only sleep-away summer camp in New Hampshire.
Lacie has a B.S. in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, a B.S.N. from Drexel University and is working on a Master of Science in Nursing at Stevenson University. Lacie lives in Maryland with her husband, two teenage stepsons, and their Australian Shepherd. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and rock climbing.
Attendees will receive a confirmation of participation with hours completed at the end of each session. Every week we will raffle a $50 gift card to Amazon, Spotify, Starbucks, etc.
