Dr. Tamar Zaretsky graduated in 2012 from Wesleyan University, with a B.A. in Psychology. She worked as a Special Education/Science Teacher through the NYC Teaching Fellows for 3 years, before returning to psychology. Tamar subsequently earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University in 2020. Throughout this program, Tamar provided psychotherapy to clients at a variety of NYC-based hospitals and community mental health clinics.
Her doctoral research examined the influence of female gonadal hormones on the development of posttraumatic stress symptoms. Tamar completed her doctoral internship at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center and is currently continuing her work there through a postdoctoral fellowship as a research clinician in the PTSD clinic.
