The Critical Analysis and Reasoning section of the MCAT, commonly referred to as CARS, is designed to test your ability to read a passage, interpret the information, and answer questions about the passage. What makes CARS challenging to master is that 40% of the questions ask readers to think beyond the text! 40%!!!! Medical school application readers take the score on the CARS section as a predictor of how applicants will succeed on the licensing board exams. By extension, how medical students will take the “firehose” of information thrown at them and use it to diagnose and treat patients.
This seminar is geared to help students understand what it takes to improve your ability to meet the challenge of scoring in a competitive range on the CARS section of the MCAT. Applicants will hear from Hunter students and alums who have scored beyond competitive on CARS and have been accepted to medical school. The panelists will be able to share their experiences and answer your questions.
This seminar is required for all 2022-2023 medical school applicants.
