Join us to discuss the third book we are reading this semester, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End, by Atul Gawande.
This book focuses on the end of life care and hospice care through the eyes of the surgeon Dr. Atul Gawande. Dr. Gawande addresses the limitations of medicine while bringing up issues such as quality of life. The heart of the book tackles the important question: What does it mean to do “more” within the constraints of medicine?
And is “more” something a patient wants and understands?
We look forward to a lively and engaging discussion. Participation is required.
