The Pre-Health Mentoring Initiative is excited to hold its first in-person event of the semester. We will be showing the film “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.”
Henrietta Lacks is the source of “HeLa” cells, which were the first immortal human cells grown in culture. Her cells are still used in almost every laboratory to this day and have helped us make countless breakthroughs in medicine such as the development of the polio vaccine.
This film is both engaging and informative, and we hope you will find it relevant as future healthcare professionals. This event will be an opportunity for you to meet fellow PHMI Mentors/Mentees who are on the same pre-health track as you. We will also provide snacks for everyone to enjoy during the movie!
