Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Better nutrition is related to improved infant, child, and maternal health, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longevity.
Nutritionists are experts in food and nutrition. They can
- help patients choose the right things to eat, help them plan menus, and advise them on the health effects of certain foods.
- assess a patient’s current dietary habits and needs, educate them on healthy eating habits
- follow up to ensure the menus are working, and write reports that document a patient’s progress
This PPAP 1002 series seminar is required for freshman Pre-Health students to open a pre-health file.
