The CASPer Exam is an online situational judgment test administered by Altus Assessments that is used by many medical schools, both allopathic and osteopathic, to determine whether an applicant possesses professionalism and certain non-cognitive skills such as collaboration, motivation, ethics, and empathy. The PREview Exam is another situational judgment test that is administered by the AAMC.
Certain medical schools are requiring the PREview Exam to determine whether an applicant possesses the AAMC's 8 core competencies for medical school applicants. Medical school applicants may need to take the PREview exam---in addition to the CASPer exam---if the medical schools they are applying to require it. In addition to the MCAT, applicants to medical schools will need to sit for the CASPer exam as well as the PREview exam prior to submitting their applications.
This seminar will provide you with all the information you will need to know to:
- Understand when and how to register for the CASPer exam and the PREview exam, including the exam fees, and technological requirements
- Understand what these Situational Judgment Exams are testing and how the exams are scored and how your scores are sent to medical school programs
- Understand how to Prepare for the CASPer exam (including the Snapshot and Duet) and the PREview exam
- Understand how to Respond to the Scenarios presented
- We will also review Practice Scenarios for the CASPer exam and the PREview exam
This is a required workshop for students applying for a Committee Letter/Committee Packet.
