Maximizing Access to Research Careers
The Maximizing Access to Research Career (MARC) program provides year-round training for undergraduate underrepresented students at Hunter. The program's aim is to prepare its scholars for admissions acceptance to biomedical graduate research program. Scholars receive research training:

Hands on research and lab exposure throughout the academic year

Support systems - Hunter faculty research mentor and MARC student alliances

Skill building in critical thinking, scientific writing and scientific presentation.

Enrichment seminars - talks by invited guests (scientists, MARC alumni, and graduate recruiters)

Opportunities to attend at a national conference - exposure to a spectrum of career scientists, networking and resources for summer/graduate programs.

A monthly stipend and tuition waiver (fall/spring) for participating in MARC activities. Scholars conduct research in a lab throughout the academic year, each week (minimum 15-20 hours).
