Explosion

Approximately 70% of terrorist events involve the use of explosives. Explosives can be used to disperse other hazardous materials.

• Mechanical 
• Chemical
• Nuclear/Radiological

Upon receipt of a written, email, verbal or call-in explosion threat, OR upon discovery of potential explosive device: 

• Notify the Office of Public Safety: 212-772-4444, and if instructed, call: 911
• Radio signals and/or electronic devices can activate explosive devices.
  • Do Not Use: Radios, cell phones, electronic bells/public address systems.
• Evacuate if necessary based on professional judgment/discretion, following evacuation procedures for your building.
