UTEP Adolescent EducationUndergraduate Teacher Education Pathway (UTEP)The UTEP Adolescent Education programs are designed to prepare undergraduate prospective teachers to serve as high-quality educators for students in urban secondary schools. These UTEP programs lead to initial certification as a teacher in New York State. These programs include extensive and closely mentored fieldwork experiences in New York City Public schools. Teacher candidates use culturally responsive, student centered teaching methods based in research, theory, and practice to work with learners of all types. Eligibility Requirements to Declare an Education Major
Eligibility and CapacitySeats in our Education majors are limited. Unfortunately, not all eligible students are offered a seat in an education major. Candidates who are not able to pursue an education are encouraged to make an appointment with a Graduate Education Admissions Advisor or email edadmissions@hunter.cuny.edu and prepare to submit an application to a master’s degree program.
