Hunter Scholarship Opportunities
The following scholarships are provided directly by Hunter College to students with exceptional community college performance.
Requirements
- Students must have either completed an Associate’s Degree or be enrolled in the last semester leading to the Associate’s Degree completion.
- CCPS is for newly admitted students only.
Selection Criteria
Students will be selected for the scholarship based on the performance at their previous community college and information provided in the Transfer Scholarship Application. Please note, students who applied for admission and completed their CUNY application before the priority deadline will be considered for the scholarship first. All other applicants will be reviewed on award availability basis.
Award Notification
Recipients of the scholarship for Fall semester will be notified via email by April 15.
Recipients of the scholarship for Spring semester will be notified via email by December 15.
The application may remain open beyond the above notification dates; however, additional recipients will be notified only if additional awards become available, which is not guaranteed.
Maintaining Award
- File an electronic FAFSA upon acceptance of this scholarship and annually thereafter by February of every academic year.
- Maintain the minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during your enrollment at Hunter College.
- Maintain full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
Community College Partnership Scholarship cannot be deferred. Students wishing to defer admission will need to reapply for the scholarship.

Submit a Transfer Scholarship Application via the Scholarship Manager.
- Visit Scholarship Manager and click on Prospective Students
- Select Create Account option
- Check your email for activation code

Submit Your ApplicationThe Hunter Promise Program is designed for students who were denied freshman admission to Hunter College. Upon completion of an associate degree at one of our partner CUNY or SUNY community colleges, the Program provides students with a seamless transfer admission process to Hunter College. Students who participate in the Hunter Promise Program and complete their associate degree with a 4.0 GPA at one of our partner community colleges will be selected to receive the Hunter Promise Program Scholarship.
