Application Process

Application Closed Until Fall 2025

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Are currently enrolled undergraduates at Hunter College.
  2. Have not received an earlier bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  3. Have earned at least 30 college credits, 15 of which have been earned at Hunter (not including the semester in which they apply.)
  4. Have at least three semesters remaining on campus before they graduate (not including the semester in which they apply.) 

Graduate students and individuals with advanced degrees are not eligible to apply. Successful applicants will show evidence of the following:

  • Financial need demonstrated via their FAFSA filing
  • Academic excellence and a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated interest in business
  • Demonstrated participation in business events and activities at Hunter
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Previous work experience in the field of business is desirable, but not required

Students selected for the Leon Cooperman Fellowship will be eligible for renewal of their participation until the completion of their bachelor's degree, assuming they maintain a minimum academic standard and are enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more credits per semester) at Hunter College.

The deadline to apply for the Leon Cooperman Fellowship Program was Monday, March 3, 2025 at 11:59 pm. 

Selection Process

The program has a competitive selection process and strives to select a class of scholars who are academically, geographically and culturally diverse based upon the applicant pool.
