As a CUNY student, you are eligible for most programs offered by colleges throughout the University. In addition, the Office of Education Abroad honors agreements with institutions that offer short-term, semester-long, and/or year-long opportunities to study or intern abroad.

The largest comprehensive university system in the United States, also runs study abroad opportunities through their various campuses.

The Office of Education Abroad honors institutional agreements with the following partners: CUNY, SUNY, CIEE, CIS Abroad, ICDS Costa Rica, IES Abroad, and USAC: they offer short-term, semester-long, and/or year-long opportunities to study or intern abroad. Though we do not administer these programs, we encourage you to search the opportunities they offer.  There are many scholarship opportunities available directly through their programs.
Program Application Guides

Please visit our guides for study abroad through CUNY or Affiliated Programs (SUNY, CIEE, CIS Abroad, ICDS, IES Abroad, and USAC) to ensure you are approved to study abroad before applying to their programs, and that your coursework can be transferred to Hunter.

All students must receive approval from the Office of Education Abroad before beginning an application to this program.

Affiliated Program Application Process

External Providers

The Office of Education Abroad neither endorses nor administers programs not previously mentioned; however, you may participate in programs that you find on your own. Because these are not pre-approved by the college or university, we encourage you to do extensive research into these opportunities.  Study abroad with an External Provider is subject to approval by the Office of Education Abroad.
