Classifications for Registration
Your group number and classification determine when you are permitted to register.
This information appears on your CUNYfirst Student Center.

| 2 – UPFR (Upper Freshman) | 15–29.9 | 6 – UPJR (Upper Junior) | 75–89.9 |
| 3 – LWSO (Lower Sophomore) | 30–44.9 | 7 – LWSR (Lower Senior) | 90–104.9 |
| 4 – UPSO (Upper Sophomore) | 45–59.9* | 8 – UPSR (Upper Senior) | 105–120+ |
*45-59.9+ for 2-year programs
About Student Group Numbers and Classifications
Group Numbers and Classifications such as Upper Senior, Lower Senior, are arrived at by adding last semester's attempted credits to credits previously earned and matching the total to the "Credits Earned" column in the table above.
Credits for courses marked "INC", "ABS", "F", "FIN", "FAB", "WU", "NC", "W", "R", "Y", are not included when arriving at credits earned.
