Part-Time

Proctor/Test Administrator

The primary role of a Proctor/Test Administrator is to assist the Room Supervisor/Reader. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • verifying identification/signing in test candidates
  • distribution and collection of test materials
  • securing all test materials maintaining the integrity of the exam
  • clarifying instructions to individual testing candidates as needed
  • monitoring test candidates
  • reporting concerns, problems, and incidents to the main office/reader
Requirements:
  • must be exempt from all CUNY Assessment Tests and have no interest in any exams offered by the testing center
  • must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • must have basic skills in operating computers
  • must have a working computer or laptop that uses Windows or iOS (no ChromeBooks) that contains a working microphone and working camera
  • must have strong customer service skills
  • must enjoy working with the public and have a strong initiative to work independently
  • must be able to work in a quiet environment, learn detailed procedures, and handle a reasonable amount of stress
  • must have strong work ethics
  • professional attire is required

Compensation: $16.50 per hour

Work Hours: Anytime Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30AM and 5:00PM. The work schedule is determined on an "as needed" basis based on the Testing Center's exam schedule.

Guidelines of Employment: Appointments are made to the Hunter College Non-Tax Levy Payroll employees have the status of employee-at-will. Therefore, no one has a contractual right, either expressed or implied, to remain in Hunter College's employment. Hunter College may terminate an employee's employment, or an employee may terminate his/her employment, without cause and with or without notice, at any time and for any reason. No supervisor or other representative of the College has the authority to enter into any employment agreement that would be contrary to the employment-at-will policy.
